History

Ignition & Fuel Systems Corp. (IFS) is a distributor of auto parts established in September of 1989 in Puerto Rico. The company was founded by Frank Arenal, its actual President. IFS started to distribute electrical and emission line. The main goal was to establish a presence in the market and gradually take the biggest share possible of it.

• In 1997 the brake line was added and a presence was established in this market.

• In 2000 the company Auto Suspension Inc. was acquired, so suspension products became part of our core business lines.
• In 2002, after Dana closed its operations in Puerto Rico, industrial hoses and engine products were added to our lines
• In 2004, vehicular wheel products were incorporated
• Since 2010 IFS is the only Pronto member in Puerto Rico
• In 2011, Cap Clutch Manufactoring ,Inc. was aquired. CAP distributes manual and automatic transmission parts, as well as ULTIMA shock absorbers. 

IFS is one of the leading auto parts distributor in Puerto Rico and the company has maintained its steady growth throughout the years. IFS serves a portfolio of over 700 clients in Puerto Rico and abroad.
